FRC Mentoring
Date: 2013-2014
Team: 4415
A member of our FTC team, Lawrence Dang, assisted and mentored an FRC team from Valley Christian High School. This team consisted of a group of 30 students under the number 4415. He discovered them through their mutual love for Water Polo and Swim, and from then on taught them various tricks relating to cost, engineering, and simple team management. As FRC is relatively expensive in comparison to FTC or FLL, efficient use in money was necessary. Lawrence made sure to narrow down these expenses as much as possible. Furthermore, due to his experiences in FLL and FTC, he presented them with numerous designs that the new team could base their own robot on. His strategy involved making their robot more well rounded and versatile on the field as it completed the various tasks in the competition. Eventually his ideas helped spur the concept of the robot they used in their competitions.
