Our School
Whitney High School in Cerritos, California is the home of FTC Team 542. Whitney, a school that serves grades 7-12 in the ABC Unified School District is one of the best schools in California in terms of Academic Performance Index scores, with a score of 993 (2011). WHS has also earned numerous Blue Ribbon and California Distinguished School awards over the years. Whitney hosts about 40 different student clubs, including its internationally award-winning Robotics Club.

Our Club
Whitney High School Robotics is currently home to three competition robotics teams. These include FIRST Lego League Team 116, VEX Robotics Competition Team 542, and this FTC team: Team 542. These teams have competed and won awards at international championships for their respective competitions since 2002, when WHS Robotics began with FRC team 1135. In fact, last season, each of our teams went to international competitions: FLL team 267 competed at the North American Open Championship, the VRC team competed at the VRC World Championships, and FTC competed at the FTC World Championships.
